He graduated in 1980 in nuclear engineering at Politecnico di Milano. From 1981 to 1997 he worked at the CISE, Center of energy research, carrying out studies and experimental activities to improve the performances of nuclear and fossil fuel (coal, fuel oil, gas combined cycle) power plants. From 1998 to the present working at ENEL Research, CESI, RSE with responsibility of research units working in the field of power generation. He is currently the Director of the Materials and Generation Technologies Department of RSE, carrying out research on distributed generation, renewable energy, energy storage and operating flexibility of large power plants He is the author of more than 50 publications related to research on electrical generation and energy storage.
