Pete has significant experience in distributed energy, battery projects and EV. His work in this area recently successfully achieved Energy and Infrastructure Team of the Year 2018 in the Legal Business Awards. In 2015, Pete was runner-up for the Financial Times European Innovator of the Year for his work in the energy sector. He also advised on the European Guidance on Energy Efficiency for the European Commission, Eurostat and European Investment Bank. This was published in May 2018. Pete has acted on numerous smart grid and demand side response projects, both utility side and customer side, most recently for a major European industrial user across their UK operations (which included the installation of battery storage). On utility side, Pete has acted on projects which successfully achieved frequency response contracts and most recently on a project which will provide 100MW of storage on the capacity market. Pete also has significant understanding in V2G and EV given his on-going work supporting the Japanese and German car manufacturing companies on their UK role-out of production scale electrical vehicles. His work in this area includes advising on all aspects of electrical distribution to support the charging network, power purchase, customer contracts and on-site energy storage.
