With an educational background in chemical engineering, Miguel Alemañy has managed technology and innovation for Procter & Gamble for almost 40 years, leading some of the company’s largest and most critical product initiatives. For the past five years, he has been managing the R&D flavors and fragrances division of P&G, which is both a consumer goods user of fragrances and flavors, as well as a perfume house in itself. Alemañy has brought a significantly different perspective and approach to the industry both in innovation/technology as well as cost control.
