James Allen II is the president of CF Rail Services, a legacy business of Sasser Family Holdings—a 90-year-old family-owned corporation headquartered in Schaumburg, Illinois. About James Allen II James has a combined 27 years of progressive organizational and professional experience in rail car maintenance services and leasing. James began his career as a welder carman in Colton, California, with GATX, where he spent 21 years developing on-the-ground and leadership experience while earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Administration from the University of Redlands in California. James’s tenure at GATX culminated in him being responsible for the company’s U.S. repair network. After leaving GATX, James was general manager at FreightCar America / FreightCar Rail Services for four years and was responsible for the company’s rail services network. James, who holds green belts in LEAN / Six Sigma, has been president of CF Rail Services since 2014 and has created an environment of success and belonging throughout the organization. He is a steward leader who works to leave CF Rail Services in a better state than it was when he joined the company. Rather than titles, James prioritizes the human element of business and fosters relationships based on transparency and accountability. Systemic and decisive, James drives continuous improvement in CF Rail Services’ people, process, and product offerings.
