Andreas Glatzer´s more than 25 years of experience in the energy business range from knowing the energy business from the side of the project developer, the plant engineer upt to the operator of a plant. He studied mechanical and process engineering at the Technical Univesity in Vienna. After his PhD in 1994 on fluidized bed technology he worked for LMF/Babcock and Austrian Energy&Environment as plant and sales engineer resp. as project manager first for oil and gas fired power plants, then for large coal fired power plants and finally with the environmental topics getting more and more important for biomass power plants. In this period he was responsible mainly for projects located in Europe and Asia, but also gained experience in Australia and South America. From 2002 on he worked for a subsidiary of OMV, which acted as an ESCO (energy service company), as managing director, being responsible for the operation of several gas turbine and gas engine plants in industrial production facilities. From 2007 on he built-up a company for an Austrian bank conglomerate developing and realizing projects in the renewable energy business (wind, PV, biogas and small hydro power) in central Europe with a total investment sum of appr. 170 mio EUR. From 2012 on Andreas was managing director in a small "start-up" company building sewage sludge incinerator plants and after the company joined Outotec group he was til 2017 senior consultant. From 2014 on he built up his consulting company IE Intelligente Energie-Systeme to provide his knowledge to mainly Austrian companies by assisting them in a broad range of energy topics. Additonally since 2016 he is managing director for a start-up in servicing wind turbine plants. Andreas has published more than 50 papers in magazines or at conferences and is also a lecturer at FH Joanneum (University of Applied Sciences) since 2015.
