Steve Laycock is the founder and CEO of Aeltari International based in Brussels – one of the first companies to promote photovoltaic power plants in the UK. Change has been a constant theme in his life, having lived in three EU countries and a few times in the USA. He holds a PhD in Astrophysics from Cambridge University and graduated from the Solvay Business School MBA in 2000. Before entering the world of renewable energy, he led CoAvant SA, specialized in procurement software and procurement consultancy. He also led the development of the first Protontherapy system for Harvard University’s teaching hospital and gained notoriety for building a new particle accelerator with unprecedented performance in record time. Being involved in noble causes and seeing the “big picture” for planet Earth, the transition to green technologies was a natural step. He pursues physics and finance, loves travel, innovative challenges and diversity.
