Alexandre Oudalov is in charge of an ABB Group program entitled “Power Systems of the Future”. In this role he is leading an R&D research team which investigates the mid- and long-term implications of the ongoing changes in power systems, primarily driven by the new renewables, distributed energy resources, and electrification of transport. Prior to his current appointment, Alexandre worked for ABB Corporate Research as the senior principal scientist where he was in charge of developing innovative technologies for power grid automation and integration of distributed energy resources. In addition, Alexandre serves as an international expert in European Technology & Innovation Platform Smart Networks for Energy Transition and in CIGRE Study Committee 6 “Distribution Systems and Dispersed Generation”. Alexandre holds a PhD degree in electrical engineering (specialization in power systems) from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, Switzerland. He is an author of more than 30 journal and conference papers and 13 granted patents.
