Mr. Thomas Zimmerer is the team leader for electrical engineering, control and process technology. He is responsible for the implementation of an energy management system for optimized control of power generating facilities. In addition, he is a lecturer at the Mainz-Wiesbaden internal school for power plant staff and a VGB member of the committee of experts for control and information technology. In 2012 he developed a heat retention method (patent) for the heat recovery steam generator to reduce the start-up time required for warm and cold start of a combined cycle power plant. From 2010 to 2014 he implemented various projects for enhancing the flexibility of a combined cycle power plant (hot start on the fly, fast shutdown, etc.).
