Chef Jennifer Denlinger is the Culinary Management Program Coordinator, at the Poinciana Campus of Valencia College. She has been a culinary educator for over thirteen years. She has a BS from University of Central Florida in Hospitality Management, a M.Ed. from American Intercontinental University in Curriculum Design, and a PhD is from Trident University International, and CCC and CHEP. Her culinary education was gained through an intensive apprenticeship program here at Disney. Her lifelong goal includes combining her educational and culinary experiences together to create a positive learning environment for students and faculty members. Being a Chef Instructor she has always enjoyed learning about the Anthropology of Food and spends her time at farms and other food production facilities in Florida to learn more. Her PhD project was how the Brain Dominance of Culinary and Pastry Students affects their Learning Styles.
Her current research outside the culinary classroom is centered on the History and Cultural Anthropology of Food in Florida, from the first settlers to present. It covers the both the cultural andeconomic significance of Florida Food, as well as the significance Florida Agriculture has on the economy. She focuses on the seasonality and freshness of food and what it takes to get to your table. Some of her work includes helping farmers and growers throughout the state promote their products and all Fresh From Florida. Jennifer is also an active member of the American Culinary Federation, Central Florida Chapter, and Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, the oldest Food and Beverage Society in the world, and Florida Hotel and Lodging Association central Florida Chapter.
