Michael N. Mears earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical and petroleum refining engineering at the Colorado School of Mines before joining the Williams Pipeline Company (now known as Magellan Pipeline Company, L.P.) in 1985. Mr. Mears served in increasingly responsible operations and commercial management positions including Vice President of Williams Pipeline Company. Mears joined Magellan when the company was formed in 2002 and has held several positions with the company during that time, including Vice President of Transportation, Senior Vice President of Terminals and Transportation and Chief Operating Officer. In February 2011, Mr. Mears became the Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer for Magellan Midstream Partners, L.P. Mr. Mears is a member of the executive committee and former chairman of the Association of Oil Pipelines. He serves on the Tulsa Area United Way Board of Directors and the Tulsa Regional Chamber Board of Directors.
