Richard Mallard got his love of cooking and the culinary arts from his mother. He started working in a professional kitchen at the age of 13 years old and has continued working in professional kitchens for over 30 years. After graduating Magna cum Laude from St. Edwards University with a B.S. in Social Psychology and Industrial and Organizational Psychology, he attended Pennsylvania Culinary Institute and graduated top of his class with an associate degree in culinary arts and sciences.
