CW5 Chavez is the second Command Chief Warrant Officer of the United States Army Cyber Center of Excellence & Fort Gordon. His first Warrant Officer assignment was with the 3/2 Stryker Brigade Ft. Lewis, WA. His next assignment was with the 1st Corps G6, Ft Lewis, WA. His third assignment was with the United States Army Southern European Task Force, Vicenza, Italy where he served as the Information Assurance Manager. His next assignment was with the 21st Theater Sustainment Command, Kaiserslautern, Germany where he served as the G6 Senior Technical Advisor and Information Assurance Manager. During this assignment, he applied for the new MOS 255S – Information Protection Technician and was selected to attend the 255S course at Ft. Gordon, GA. His fifth assignment was with the United States Cyber Command, Ft. Meade, MD where he served in the J33 as the Defensive Cyberspace Operations Mission Lead. His most recent assignment was with the United States Army Cyber Protection Brigade, Ft. Gordon, GA where served as the Senior Warrant Officer and Technical Advisor focusing on providing forces for Defensive Cyberspace Operations in order to ensure freedom of action in and through cyberspace and to deny the same to our adversaries. During this assignment, he applied for branch transfer to the newly established Cyber Branch and was transferred to MOS 170A – Cyber Operations Technician. CW5 Chavez has attended the Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Non-Commissioned Officer Course, Advanced Non-Commissioned Officer Course, Warrant Officer Candidate School, Warrant Officer Basic Course, Warrant Officer Advance Course, Warrant Officer Staff Course, and the Warrant Officer Senior Staff Course. His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (4 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (6 OLC), and the Combat Action Badge.
