Keenan Newton




Keenan is a Lieutenant and the UAS coordinator for the Lynwood Fire Department in Lynwood, IL. He brings over 15 years of experience in the fire service, including over 10 years of experience with radio-controlled aircraft and drones, and 15 years of public speaking experience. Keenan is passionate about the safe and effective use of sUAS in public safety. He has a YouTube Channel called Saving Lives with Drones, which provides proven practices and subject matter expertise on utilizing UAS in public safety. Keenan is a seasoned presenter. He has presented at local and national fire conferences as well as for individual agencies and as a former Microsoft employee, was a regular technology spokesperson at conferences and keynotes. Keenan offers real world public safety UAS experience as he has provided UAS assistance to various public safety incidents to include barricaded subjects, search and rescue, wildland fires, structure fires and disaster recon to name a few. Keenan holds a FAA Remote Pilot certificate, is an Instructor II on his department, and a member of the Illinois Incident Management Team.
