Cody Benkelman




In his role as Technical Product Manager for imagery, Cody works to improve workflows in ArcGIS with regard to managing and using imagery, lidar, elevation, and full motion video in ArcGIS, with a recent focus on UAV (drone) sensor data. Cody has worked in the remote sensing and GIS industry since 1990, serving as principal engineer for development of the ADAR System 5500, one of the industry’s earliest commercial multispectral digital camera systems. He is currently serving as a Technical Product Manager on the Esri imagery team, working to improve customer workflows with regard to using lidar, imagery, and raster data in ArcGIS, with a recent focus on UAV (drone) sensor data. His technical background includes algorithm and software development for image processing and analysis, including one patent, and he served as a principal investigator on three NASA projects. Cody received an undergraduate degree in Physics from Montana State University, and a master’s degree in Applied Physics from the University of Colorado. He has been a member of ASPRS for 20 years.
