412 Test Wing Benefield Anechoic Facility (BAF) at the Air Force Test Center, Edwards AFB, CA
The BAF provides a robust and comprehensive RF T&E infrastructure to ensure weapons system survivability and mission effectiveness for the DoD, industry and allies. The largest anechoic test facility provides a secure “virtual open-air RF range within four walls and ceiling” — a valuable tool providing test engineering applied to the development and the T&E of RF systems. We conduct Antenna Pattern, EW (RWR/ESM/EA/EP), Radar ECCM, Survivability, Electromagnetic Interoperability/Compatibility and Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) tests.
The
uniquely large BAF offers a
highly flexible and scalable indoor range and test capabilities at the
installed and uninstalled systems test level across a
wide spectrum. The facility is maintained and operated by the 412 TW Electronic Warfare Group’s 772 Test Squadron. The 772 TS provides the test planning, design and execution to collect the required test data for system development and verification effeciently and efficiently. It's
