Celebrating 10 years of innovation and reliability, American Traction Systems (ATS) designs and manufactures high efficiency propulsion systems and accessories for conventional and genset locomotives, and MoW equipment. Our IGBT based choppers and inverters provide excellent wheel slip control, speed regulation and dynamic braking to zero speed. We have more than 175 locomotives in operation with our DC and AC propulsion systems in the United States, Europe, South America, Australia and Africa.
ATS introduces a new PLC for improved, smooth traction control interface. We also offer the AC77 High Torque Traction motor, which allows the modernization of a legacy DC locomotive to more efficient and powerful AC traction for the fraction of the cost of a new AC locomotive.
