The Sensors of Smart Shoe Kits are specifically designed for accurate Wheel Tread Brakes (W), Disc Brakes (D) and Hand brake chain force measurement (H). Smart Shoe's inventors have succeeded to produce a unique mechanism-sensor able to measure the true radial force between brake shoe and wheel tread while nullifying the other contact forces and torques.

The Calibration of the Smart Shoe sensor is performed by Romell Inc on specifically designed Test Bench that reproduces the real-life brake shoe/wheel tread environment. This Test Bench and Calibration Procedure are based on AAR standard S-4024, ISO 10912, ANSI/NCSL 2540.1-1994 and UIC regulations. Each Smart Shoe sensor is calibrated individually and a traceable Certificate of Calibration is issued.
