Maltwerks is a family owned Midwest malt house focused on genuine relationships in offering quality, locally produced, traceable malt to the craft brewing industry. Maltwerks was born 2 years ago when father and son duo Randy and Kaj Peterson found a way to merge their love and passion for craft beer with their experience in sourcing commodities and ingredients. They got to work building our one-of-a- kind custom malthouse in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota while leveraging Randy’s experience in sourcing ingredients to build our ever-expanding portfolio of adjuncts, grains, hops, spices and botanicals to service the craft brewing, distilling and greater beverage industries. Maltwerks has evolved from a question and vision to a fully operational malthouse that is sourcing barley from local farmers and partnering with independent craft breweries to create craft beer that is grown local and malted local.
