The foundation for Jack Link's began in the 1880's when Jack's great-grandfather, Chris, came to America from the old country and settled in the wilderness of northern Wisconsin.  He didn't bring much with him, but he did bring his family's sausagae recipes.  Soon his sausages and smoked meats became legend among the pioneer families



The entrepreneurial spirit was passed down to Jack's grandfather, Earl, who opened the first general store and butcher shop, and to his father, Wolf, who raised the best cattle in the region, then also on to Jack who had the idea to make jerky, and working alongside his sons, began selling it throughout the area. The business grew and grew from there and now it is the #1 brand of meat snacks.
