Our award-winning teas and coffee are grown and handpicked small farms in western Kenya. Ajiri Tea won the Buyer's Choice Award for Best Black Tea, First Place at the North American Tea Championships, and two sofi Gold Awards for packaging. The word "Ajiri" means "to employ" in Swahili. Ajiri employs 60 women in western Kenya to handmake the labels for the tea and coffee boxes using dried bark from banana trees. Each and every label is unique. 100% of profits from sales of Ajiri Tea are donated to the non-profit Ajiri Foundation to pay school fees for orphans. This year, Ajiri is sponsoring 29 students in school--16 high schoolers and 13 primary school students. Seven students have graduated through the Ajiri program. Ajiri is more than a coffee and tea. Our goal is to create a sustainable cycle of employment and education in western Kenya and, of course, a delicious cup of tea!
