Effie's Homemade makes a line of tea biscuits in five flavors, Oatcake Corncakes Pecan Nutcakes Malted Cocoacakes & Walnut Ryecakes. Effie's biscuits are lightly sweetened with a nice hint of salt making them a perfect snack anytime of day.
We launched the company in 2008 with Effie's Oatcakes, a family recipe from Cape Breton Nova Scotia. Made with wholesome ingredients our biscuits have a wonderful balance of butter and whole grains. Each unique flavor has a following of fans and we love to pair them with artisan cheeses, preserves and hot & cold beverages.
Effie's Biscuits have been the recipient of a number of industry awards and accolades. Our Oatcakes took home a gold sofi award for best cookie in 2010. In 2012 we received a gold sofi for best food service item with our Single Serve Oatcakes while our Corncakes and Walnut Ryecakes have taken home silver sofi award for best cracker in 2010 and 2014.
In 2017 Effie's won three sofi awards in two categories firmly reinforcing our biscuit line as a lightly sweetened cookie / cracker. Effie's Malted Cocoacakes won a bronze in the cookie category while in the cracker category our Walnut Ryecakes won a silver (third time!) and our Pecan Nutcakes won a bronze.
