Dr. Tucker's talk titled "Enforcement of Organic Regulations" will delve into the strict guidelines farmers, ranchers and food handlers must adhere to in order to get and maintain, the USDA Organic Seal. As the landscape of organic food evolves so must the rules and regulations - this enforcement not only protects the integrity of the USDA, but also the consumers who purchase organic goods.
Dr. Tucker also served as Associate Deputy Administrator of the National Organic Program from 2011-2018. She earned a B.A. in Environmental Science from Wesleyan University, an M.S. in Management from Purdue University, and a Ph.D. in Science and Technology Studies from Virginia Tech.
