The Blonder Tongue NeXgen Gateway (NXG) Platform is a two-way module-based platform, designed to adapt to any enterprise application for delivering next generation video services to locations including, hospitality, educational, multifamily residential, healthcare, business parks, and even stadiums.
Powerful system features, especially the 60 Gbps capacity backplane, 10 Gbps SFP+ port support, and the enterprise-grade switch, make the NXG the ideal solution for traditional video distribution, while having the additional capacity built-in to handle next generation technologies as they are being introduced. The NXG also addresses the challenges of migrating to future IP-DRM content protection practices, while supporting today’s CableCARD® ingest encryption.
The system platform starts with the NXG Mainframe, which features input and output signal conditioning, communication and management via a powerful Linux-based monitoring and control system. It supports module interconnection via a high-speed-data based backplane, and DC power to various sections and modules via fully redundant, hot swappable power supplies. The NXG Mainframe utilizes secure webpages to control the entire platform module functionality, input channel source selection (RF/IP), and output channel destination selection (RF/IP).
