Jennifer Hadley-White: From Breakdown to Full Throttle

Jennifer Hadley-White is the owner, marketing rep, designer, production line, custodian (OK, she has a cleaning lady), and accountant (OK, her mom does her bills) for Dry Wit Goods, a boutique stationery company based in Ft. Worth, Texas, where the traffic actually stops for cattle drives. Jennifer, however, is far from a cowgirl. She's more of an indoor kind of person, who loves drawing, painting, and working in her beloved Adobe PhotoShop software.

Jennifer started in the stationery world when her son was little but it was more hobby -- meaning no income. Then, after rearing the kid until school, she re-entered the working world of adults and had to put stationery aside except for a few local craft markets here and there.

Then, about four years ago, Jennifer suffered a mental breakdown: the kind of breakdown that required a leave from her job, therapy, and medication (the good stuff). It was a sucky time for her self-esteem. But, as part of her recovery, she started taking business and creative wholesale classes and programs. Her self-esteem shot through the stratosphere and she realized that her easy grasp of these topics meant she was a smarty-pants after all. It was a thrilling time. She determined she was going to take what she learned and make another go at stationery -- this time for profit.

Since then, Jennifer developed the branding Dry Wit Goods, created 100s of products from greeting cards to prints and calendars and more. Now she sells to shops across the country and is making that profit, ensuring legit business status.
