HAZARDOUS DRUG KITS ON TIME FOR USP <800> COMPLIANCE

IMPACT ABSORBENTS ANNOUNCES NEW HAZARDOUS DRUG KITS ON TIME FOR USP <800> COMPLIANCE

Are you ready for the USP <800> (2019) standards for all pharmacies?

Impact Absorbents, Inc. announced today the availability of the Spill Hero Hazardous Drug Kit, a drug waste cleanup and disposal kit for compounding and non-compounding pharmacies. The kits provide a completely safe and compliant method to handle hazardous drugs, such as Fentanyl, chemotherapy drugs, waste from compounding, returned unused medicines, and biohazard waste. By December 1st 2019 pharmacies, veterinarians’ offices, and healthcare institutions, and physicians’ practice facilities will be required to have a system in place that is in compliance with USP <800> and provides for safe handling of hazardous drugs to minimize the risk of exposure to healthcare personnel, patients, and the environment.

“I was given the challenge and task of researching and developing a kit for USP <800> compliance that would be affordable and protect employees against potentially lethal drug exposure,” said Tammy Rayner, safety specialist and product development manager at Impact Absorbents. She went on to say, “I have been helping companies with compliance and safety for almost two decades and although this project was complex we were able to put out the best solution and get it done before the deadline.”

Features and benefits of the Spill Hero Hazardous Drug Kits include:

  • Simple step-by-step instructions for quick and easy set up.
  • Includes both the Rx Destroyer media and XSORB Plus absorbent.
  • Comes with all of the personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools to be safe and protected during hazardous drug interactions.
  • Compliant with USP <800> standards for hazardous drug clean up and disposal.

The Spill Hero Hazardous Drug Kits are available now. For more information on the Hazardous Drug Kits or USP <800> contact Tammy Rayner at (800) 339-7672, by email at trayner@xsorb.com, or on the web at, https://spillhero.com/pages/spill-hero-hazardous-drug-kits
