Todd Reed: Gold That Has Been bent

Artist-Jeweler Releases New Minimalist Design Series

Boulder, Colorado: Award-winning artist-jeweler Todd Reed launches a new minimalist style jewelry series that explores notions of the enigmatic simplicity of design. The brand will showcase the entirety of these new designs publicly for the first time at The Couture Show in Las Vegas, NV this May.

This series is an exploration of patterns and shapes, and are thematically connected by thin limbs of 18k gold and the minimal placement of white brilliant diamonds. Todd describes this new work simply as, “gold that has been bent in the corner” and notes that these classic shapes are echoed throughout human and design history.

One could liken these designs to many different references: chandeliers, celestial objects, art nouveau, ancient Mesopotamia, a spider crawling up the wall. However, the emotion behind this series is evident. Every piece, with its delicate spindles peppered with an array of tiny white brilliants, is a statement on intimacy and was specifically built to look and hang beautifully on a woman. At The Couture Show, the brand will showcase Todd’s newest earrings, rings, necklaces, and cuffs from this series.
