WALLAROO HAT COMPANY MAKES EMPOWERING DONATIONS TO SKIN CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

BOULDER, Colo. – Wallaroo Hat Company partnered with the Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) and Polka Dot Mama Melanoma Research Foundation in May, for Melanoma and Skin Cancer Awareness Month. Wallaroo donated their signature UPF 50+ hats, which are accredited by the Skin Cancer Foundation’s Seal of Recommendation, for galas held by both foundations this spring.

On Sunday, April 28th, Polka Dot Mama, Tracy Callahan, hosted the Fourth Annual Taste for a Cure: Chef’s Gala. The featured keynote speaker was Dr. Jerome Adams, the 20th Surgeon General of United States. Adams was joined by his wife, wearing a Wallaroo Scrunchie Hat with Polka Dots, in support of women who have lost their hair due to a medical condition. For more information on the event, please visit http://tasteforacuregala.com/.

On Saturday, May 18th, press and guests are invited to witness the historic moment of a new Guinness Book of World Records on Skin Screening, created by the Polka Dot Mama Foundation. The event will take place at the Duke Health Center in Durham, NC. There will be a Wallaroo hat rack filled with sun protective hats, located at the Polka Dot Mama Booth.  Participants in the screening have an opportunity to select their signature Wallaroo hats and Wallaroo catalogs with discount coupons, in the hopes of promoting the importance of wearing wide brim hats for protection and prevention of skin cancers.
