Initial versions of Lastrå straws and straw sets sold out last summer at Zalace’s fiancé’s popular Northwest Florida organic juice bar and lifestyle store. Zalace believes that seeds of change begin locally; Turtle Safe flashlight filters led to regulation that minimizes shoreline lighting to avoid confusing turtles (who use moonlight to guide themselves to the water) and directives for nesting protocols on beaches worldwide.
