We at Gitingas have been working hard in our presence in Costa Rica for the past 4 years. We have taken a 'mom and pop' business in which the bags were all handmade at home, to having them professionally manufactured, packaged and shipped. Our bag selections have multiplied in different styles and integrating new images .
For the past 2-1/2 years Gitingas has been using an organization called Human Hope for it's manufacturing. Human Hope is a social sustainability project where inmates are trained in certain skills in order to work and earn money to send home to their families who depend on their support. This Program was designed to help end crime in this country. by showing the children that is possible to do well in life without resorting to crime.
We have been involved in country-wide organizations such as Procomer, Expotur, and Cadexco where the minister of tourism has congratulated us on our work with Human Hope and of course, our well made, beautiful products.
Gitingas Beach/Boat bags, Fannypacks, Backpacks, and Travel wallets are sold in various Boutiques, Hotels, Marinas, etc.. along with popping up at festivals through out Costa Rica.
We are now ready to conquer the United States (home sweet home), starting with our Shopify store, shopgitingas.com, and participating in the Surf Expo this September !
