Special Guest App Appears on the Ellen Show

PRESS RELEASE: Los Angeles, CA - For Immediate Release

Special Guest recently announced that its cofounder Damon Wayans, Jr appeared on "the Ellen Show" to promote his hit TV Show "Happy Together" and discuss his highly successful talent booking platform.

During the interview Ellen asked Damon about his talent booking app "Special Guest." Ellen DeGeneres noted that Special Guest is a brilliant idea that helps connect talent to bars, restaurants clubs, and event planners around the country. Damon noted that he and entrepreneur Kris Jones founded Special Guest to make it easier for talented people to get discovered and booked. However, as part of the process of launching and scaling the Special Guest platform the two realized the traditional talent booking industry was terribly inefficent.

Damon and Kris launched "Venue Connect" as a solution to help venues of all types (bars, restaurants, clubs, wedding and event venues) streamline the process of discovering and booking live entertainers. Features of the platform include streamlining the process of communicating with talent, putting a legal agreement in place, collecting information about how the performance impacts the venues bottom line (food and beverage), reviewing ratings and reviews, and payment. The product is helping venues throughout the country and feedback has been overwhlemingly positive.

Connor Scalleat, General Manager of Scalleat Hospitality Group noted, "Scalleat Hospitality Group is a 65 year old holding company of several restaurants and hotels. Prior to Special Guest we never hired live entertainment because we felt the process was too much work. We started with our flagship property called the Powerhouse Eatery and launched what we called Powerhouse LIVE. Special Guest took care of everything for us from identifying appropriate talent that fit our customer demographics to communicating with talent, reaching a legal agreeement around cancellation, etc., and payment. It was so brilliant that we then launched Special Guest at our sister venue called Avalon and most recently we acquired a new restaurant called the Canning House where we actually invested in a Special Guest Stage where we will host live entertainment weekly. The guest response has been incredible and we are seeing clear growth in F&B across the board."

Special Guest will be exhibiting at the 2019 Nightclub and Bar Show in Las Vegas on March 25 - 27. Founder Kris Jones, who was a 2017 NCB Keynote Speaker, will be present along with cofounder Damon Wayans, Jr. and company Head of Growth Brandon Breitenbach.
