There’s no need to leave patient turning to chance…

The use of repositioning therapy is advocated for the prevention and treatment of various complications and is the mainstay in national and international pressure ulcer prevention guidelines.  These guidelines recommend two hourly positioning as a routine standard of care1.

Although patient positioning is an important part of patient care, there is limited information on what happens in clinical practice. What published evidence there is, suggests that patients may remain in one position for extended periods of time2.

This could be because manual patient turning can be very time consuming, ineffective, requires significant resource, can introduce risk to staff and patients, and might not be well tolerated.

Toto® is an automatic lateral turning system designed to assist with patient turning. Consisting of a digital control unit and platform which is fitted beneath the patients’ mattress, Toto effectively redistributes patients’ peak pressures, by tilting via discreet inflatable air cells; evenly, smoothly and consistently even when they are sleeping.

Toto enables you to increase patient compliance, decrease the risk of pressure injury, reduce dependency on staff and caregivers, increase patient safety and provide your patient with a good night’s sleep.

Come along to booth #1128, and see Toto in action, the Frontier Therapeutics Team are looking forward welcoming you.

The quality of patient care improves when safe patient handling programs are implemented3
