Leamington, ON (February 6, 2019) – On the year of its 20th anniversary, NatureFresh™ Farms is excited to announce the expansion of their Organic acreage along with new offerings of Organic produce at their Ontario facility, providing North Americans with more variety throughout the year.
In recent years especially, NatureFresh Farms has increased their focus on cultivating certified-Organic crops and are committed to meeting the increasing demand for more high-quality Organic produce. With a current 30 acres dedicated to the growth of Organic crops in Ontario. NatureFresh™ Farms is planning on an additional expansion that will occur over the next 12- 18 months. This expansion will allow Organic produce to be grown in their Canadian greenhouse for nine months of the year, giving North American consumers a greater opportunity to purchase Organic and locally-grown produce.
With a unique cultivation system for growing organically, NatureFresh™ Farms grows Organic Red, Orange, and Yellow Sweet Bell Peppers as well as Mini Sweet Peppers, English Cucumbers, Mini Cucumbers, Snacking Tomatoes and Tomatoes-on-the-Vine. In addition, NatureFresh™ Farms will be introducing new certified Organic offerings (including more Tomato varieties) by doubling their Organic production, allowing them to better meet the consumer demand in both the US and Canada.
Ray Wowryk, Director of Business Development at NatureFresh™ Farms, is expecting great success from the expansion: "We are seeing excellent growth in the category and our expansion will enable us to offer locally-grown vegetables for consumers," shared Ray. "Many of them are concerned about food miles and are increasingly expressing their preference for locally-grown food. Our goal is to continue to grow our local production both in Canada and in our Ohio facility for the US market."
