NY NOW® Winter 2020

ShoreBags Chosen for NY NOW Sustainability Display

New York, NY, January 14, 2020: ShoreBags, the boutique canvas bag company
based in Chesterton, Indiana, was selected by NY NOW to participate in the
Sustainability, design for a better world® display at NY NOW, February 1-5, 2020.

The woman-owned company promotes sustainable living for “ourselves and the earth”
by making their products from sustainable raw content that’s responsibly sourced and
biodegradable. Using natural fibers in all their designs, they also include a percentage
of canvas made from post-industrial waste.

“We’re thrilled to be included in this spotlight display,” says Jim Harbison, Creative
Director. “It’s a particular honor for us as we truly believe responsible sourcing and
ethical manufacturing are critical to protect our world. We’ve made reducing waste
and plastics a key pillar of our company.”

The company also proudly supports women in impoverished communities, who
make up half their workforce. “We're committed to ethical  manufacturing and a
safe and clean work environment. Our family-owned factory is a place of opportunity
for women and we support our workforce with a fair and equitable wage,” says
owner Nidhi Sharma.

The company will display one of their signature bags, the Mini Box Tote. Held at the
Jacob Javits Center in New York, NY NOW is considered one of the world’s
premier trade shows for design inspiration and sourcing. An estimated 25,000 vistors
and exhibitors are expected.
