New Binocular Sighting System From Start-up Promises To End “Shaky Bino Syndrome” and Frustrating Arm Fatigue
SALT LAKE CITY – Utah based start-up Falconview™ is introducing its new, fully mobile, self-contained, Hands-free Binocular Pack System consisting of a binocular harness and pack with a built-in, chest mounted monopod. Binoculars can quickly be deployed for steady, hands-free and extended viewing, without the shakiness or arm fatigue that has plagued users since the invention of hand-held binoculars in 1825.
Falconview is exhibiting for the 1st time at the Western Hunting & Conservation Expo, in its Stabil-Eyes Booth (#7106).
The system, dubbed Stabil-Eyes™, is the brainchild of inventor and Falconview founder, Jim Ackerman, who claims the system is a game changer for hunters, birders, wildlife watchers and spectator sports enthusiasts.
“I took up hunting when I was 63. I donned a pair of binoculars and set out on a scouting trip in late summer, just before the archery season of 2018. The first thing I noticed was how impossible it was to hold my binoculars steady enough to identify an animal a few hundred yards above me on a rock outcropping. I thought, ‘There has to be a better way,’ and the idea for Stabil-Eyes was born.”
According to the company, users can deploy and stow binoculars quickly and easily, on the move, using this new Binocular Sighting System. In most cases they can leave tripods at home, eliminating the bulky, awkward extra weight, and the extensive set-up and take down times that tripods require. But on those occasions where a tripod is still desirable, the system includes a quick release, arca-Swiss mechanism that permits instant transfer of binoculars from Stabil-Eyes to tripod and back again.
The introductory model accommodates binoculars with barrels as long as 7 ¼ inches, which will fit most binos up to 12x50 and some even bigger. The product weighs about 11 oz. more than comparably sized bino harness/pack combinations, accounting for the monopod and binocular mount. But because the harness is chest mounted and actually counterbalances a typically-worn backpack, Falconview claims most users don’t feel the difference at all.
In addition to steadier, longer-lasting “glassing” sessions and the elimination of arm fatigue, the new system allows for…
- hands-free viewing,
- one-hand focus control
- the ability to instantly shift position, even as viewing targets move, without having to adjust binoculars
- and the ability to leave binoculars deployed as you move along the trail
The product also features a built-in rangefinder “shelf” that drops open and self-closes at the bottom of the pack, a mesh sleeve accessible from the right or left, for wind checker or other quick-access items, and a zippered rear pocket to carry licenses, cell phones or additional sundries that would benefit from extra protection.
“I’ve offered big men $1,000.00 on the spot if they can hold their binoculars steady as long as I can. When they see Stabil-Eyes, they laugh and don’t take the bet.” says Ackerman.
“I’ve offered $1,000.00 to anybody who can deploy a tripod before I can deploy my binoculars on Stabil-Eyes. They don’t even have to mount binoculars. Nobody’s won yet!”
Ackerman claims his system is far steadier than any way you can invent to hand-hold binoculars, that it rivals image-stabilizing binos, and offers superior flexibility, mobility, convenience and even performance in most cases, compared to tripods.
Now, after years of development and prototyping, and the issuance of two U.S. patents, Falconview has launched the product and dozens of hunters used it this past hunting season, with many more anticipating the shed hunting season to come.
Introduced at the 2026 Wester Hunting & Conservation Expo in Salt Lake, interested consumers can take advantage of 20% off, introductory pricing at www.steadymybinos.com, where they can also see a video demonstration of the product and more details about the product.
