EMerge Alliance has released Version 1.2 of its Interoperability Data Model (IDM) Standard, a standardized, open-source schema that enables AI-facilitated and traditional software to identify compatible OEM equipment for microgrids and distributed energy systems — giving designers standardized, machine-readable datasheets for every device to speed compatibility checks, automate specifications, and cut soft costs. The Standard already powers RE+Source PRO, the new AI-facilitated equipment platform from Direct Energy Partners and RE+ Events, marking what EMerge Alliance Chair Brian Patterson calls a key milestone in the industry's shift toward distributed, DC-enabled power architectures, and what Direct Energy Partners CEO Dusan Brhlik describes as a vital step toward faster, more reliable microgrid deployment.
