Meeting Kia Motors’ Corporate Design With Curved Ceilings and Acoustical Ceiling Tiles

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Jan. 9, 2018: Kia Motors is on the move in Fort Worth, Texas, with a new sales building and service drive. This expansion and renovation help Moritz Kia Fort Worth better serve its customers with more dedicated space.

“The original building was built in the 1960s, and it was way too small,” says Jim Cappler, with Moritz Kia. “This helps our team do its jobs while providing quality services to our customers.”

Binks Construction Inc., Arlington, Texas, was the design-builder that worked within Kia’s corporate design parameters. Binks Construction and the owners selected products for its ceiling that met Kia’s design goals with the added bonus of being easy to install.

Armstrong Dryway, Waxahackie, Texas, installed 3 5/8 inch 20-guage Flex-C Trac from Flex-Ability Concepts for a curved ceiling and 89 cartons of EuroStone Terric acoustic ceiling tiles with a 9/16-inch reveal. The products were distributed by Daico Suppy Co., Fort Worth.

Flex-C Trac allows high-quality curved walls, ceilings, arches and S curves to be created. Labor costs are reduced because using Flex-C Trac is so quickly shaped and simple to use. The track is curved to the desired position and held in place with Hammer-Lock tabs that embed into the web. The track is then fastened to the floor or ceiling. EuroStone, distributed by Flex-Ability Concepts’ distributor network, is an acoustical ceiling tile made from inorganic volcanic stone with no fiber fillers. The sustainable tile’s content gives it a natural alkalinity that does not allow for mold or bacteria growth.  The tile will not burn or smoke.

“Flex-Ability Concepts remains the source for metal framing to create curves for ceilings and walls,” says Robert Widmer, marketing manager with Flex-Ability Concepts. “By teaming with EuroStone, our customers can do one-stop shopping with our trusted distribution network for a ceiling tile like no other that complements our curved products.”

Flex-Ability Concepts pioneered the development of flexible framing products. Patented Flex-C Trac can be curved by hand on the jobsite and is the brand by which all others are measured. Flex-Ability Concepts has continued to add new sizes and gauges to its Flex-C Trac product offering. Other products include Flex-C Angle; Flex-C Arch; Flex-C Header; Quick Qurve Plate; and Three Legged Dog, a complete line of deflection clips.

EuroStone Ceilings was conceived in England more than 20 years ago. Now owned by a 100-percent Mexican company, EuroStone has evolved to be more durable and more sustainable. EuroStone is an acoustical ceiling tile made from inorganic volcanic stone and has no perlite fiber fillers. The sustainable tile’s content gives it a natural alkalinity that does not allow for mold or bacteria growth. Available in 20 styles and four colors with customization options, the sustainable product comes with a 40-year warranty.
