EAF SMARTrafo is a TES research and development project aimed to offer modern technological solutions, which enable significant savings, thanks to the installation of a new EAF transformer. The EAF transformer is one of the keys of the melting processes; its main task is the transformation of the voltage and current values for ferrous metal, ferroalloy and scrap melting. TES has developed a tool to optimize all the EAF transformers’ main parameters. This customized transformer, sized to minimize electrical losses during its operation, ensures the increase and balance of energy capability. Equipped with intelligent systems management, it guarantees focused maintenance and higher reliability. The result is a smart transformer that will improve the efficiency of the entire industrial system, reducing costs and bringing economic benefits.
