After seven years and 14 installations of the Condoor (aka Texas Tailgate) worldwide, the results achieved are presented, as well as the lesson learned that led to the actual technical solution through three major steps, summing up hundreds of technical improvements, each born from steelmaker experiences and requirements. Not all stories have been positive, but each experience, especially when shared between supplier and final users, has been a step ahead in the development of a product delivering enhanced safety and lowering operating costs in different areas for modern steelmaking.
