10 May 17
8:30 AM - 9:00 AM

Tracks: Don Daily Memorial Session

Steelworkers are often exposed to tasks that require high strength and endurance, which results in high incidence of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). The goal of this study was to reduce MSDs among steel workers by providing our safety students an opportunity to understand the safety- and health-related challenges in the steel industry and participate in a safety and health improvement program. Students have identified several potential safety and health improvement items and plan to further investigate ways to make changes. Results of this study will benefit steelworkers by reducing MSD-related safety and health concerns in their workplaces.
