Tracks: Rod & Bar Mill Efficiency

The wire rod mill reheating furnace studied used to have two major problems. One is the large liquefied natural gas (LNG) rate of approximately 15% used for reheating furnace temperature rise relative to the total amount of LNG, and the other is the reheating furnace hearth, which causes defects of the product. In order to solve these problems, the following two points of the reheating furnace were remodeled: ceramic fiber for ceiling and the walls of the soaking zone burner, and billet extraction method change in the reheating furnace. This remodeling reduced the unit fuel consumption by 7.4% and increased the product qualified rate by1.03%.
