New Study and Proven Method of High Speed Response for Hot Finishing Mills (Room 102B)

Yield improvement of hot strip mills can be expected with high-speed response of main motors in finishing lines. However, there is a risk of causing both an unexpected vibration of mill drive system and adverse influence of looper control for finishing mills. In such situations, a new method is proposed together with raising speed response and suppressing an unexpected vibration using reference model following control. Presented are the quantitative verification results of the influence on control by high-speed response of main motors. Additionally, effectiveness will be shown by actual application results.
