Research of Structural Porosity Characteristics of Iron Ore Sinter (Room 207A)

The bonding strength of sinter is directly affected by its structural porosity characteristics. In this study, the sinter structural changes of five typical iron ores were investigated by micro-sinter method, and the sinter structure index was proposed to estimate the bonding situation. The results indicated that the sinter structure index of samples had significant difference, and the sinter structure index was positively correlated with the bonding strength. Better liquidity of bonding fines and lower assimilation of nuclear ore resulted in better bonding effect of sinter quasi particles, which allowed higher sinter structure index to be obtained.
