Tracks: Process Optimization/Modeling

In order to improve the efficiency of the dephosphorization process, the effect of Al2O3 addition to the high-basicity CaO-SiO2-FeO slags on the dephosphorization behavior of hot metal was investigated at 1,623 K in the laboratory-scale hot metal experiments. The addition of small amount of Al2O3 can promote the CaO dissolution into the slags, and the maximum value of the phosphorus distribution ratio was obtained in the case of 5 mass% Al2O3. This tendency was explained by the simulation model using the phosphorus distribution ratio between multi-phase slag and hot metal.
