Quality Strip Production (QSP) is the latest generation of Danieli’s thin-slab casting and rolling technology introducing a new level of quality and flexibility to the market. Starting with a vertical-curved caster instead of a vertical solid bending caster, this concept enables a higher productivity and realizes at the same time an improved slab quality due to the reduced ferrostatic pressure. In addition, the caster productivity can be further increased with low CAPEX by extending the horizontal caster containment length. Besides transferring, heating up and buffering of slabs coming from the caster, the in-house-built tunnel furnace with the latest generation of water-cooled or dry furnace rollers focuses on the recovery of heat losses.
