Motivational Interviewing is style of communicating with patients about health behavior change. With over 40 years of research to support its effectiveness, Motivational Interviewing has become a reliable intervention style for providers who wish to speak to patients about smoking cessation, medication adherence, diabetes management, personal hygiene, substance use, and countless other health-related behaviors. Join internationally recognized trainer, Kate Watson, for a brief introduction to Motivational Interviewing skills. This session will emphasize both the technical and relationship components of Motivational Interviewing skills, and will include an overview of the evidence base.
