(S05) Good Things Don’t Always Come in Small Packages: Comprehensive Care of the Bariatric Patient - SOLD OUT (Room Salon CDE, Philadelphia Marriott Downtown)

Supported by Hill-Rom

Quality care of bariatric patients will become increasingly important given the surge of obesity and morbid obesity in American society. Comprehensive safe, effective, and humane care involves understanding of issues including safe patient handling and mobility, skin and wound care, appropriate sized equipment and the ergonomics of its use, and sensitivity in interpersonal interactions. Theoretical perspectives on precursors to obesity and morbid obesity provide a framework for deeper understanding of their development and approaches to humane care.
