Study on Removal of Brittle Phases by Optimizing the Process Parameters of Welding Wire Rod Grade for Gas-Metal Arc Welding Applications (Room 308)

In this study, the design and improvement of welding wire rod grade for gas metal arc welding wire applications that are all covered by imports in Turkey have been done. During the design and experimental studies, JMatPro software and Gleeble 3500 thermal simulators are used to describe the CCT and TTT curves and for simulating Stelmor line parameters. Besides optical microscope, scanning electron microscope (SEM) energy-dispersive x-ray spectrometry and electron backscatter diffraction are used to describe the brittle phases. Experimental studies are also verified by industrial trials. Finally, the optimum process parameters to produce this wire rod grade without any brittle phase are determined by satisfying customers' demands.
