Through the development of composite materials and profiles for guidance, the performance and reliability of hydraulic automatic gauge control (HAGC) systems can be improved by reducing the risk of metal-to-metal contact, extending seal life, reducing leakage rates, replacing costly bronze guidance, and in some cases reducing the overall size of the cylinder itself.
