Hot Skin Pass Mill and Tension Leveler Line for Ultrahigh-Strength Steel (Room 307)

In order to reduce CO2 generated by automobile power, it becomes essential to design lighter-weight vehicles. For this reason, the component materials for frames and chassis are being thinned and strengthened. This trend applies not only to cold-rolled steel but also to hot-rolled steel. On the other hand, since these materials require rapid cooling by water quenching, the rolled materials tend to become inferior in flatness to the conventional materials. This paper introduces a hot skinpass mill line with a tension leveler, which levels the hot-rolled ultrahigh-strength strip, delivered by JP Steel Plantech Co.
