New Pathways Toward Safe and Effective Cooling Systems (Room 320)

The aim of creating the new ionic liquid cooling technology ILTEC with the novel cooling medium IL-B2001 was the elimination of water in critical areas in order to make iron- and steelmaking safer and also to create new pathways toward effective cooling. This paper will emphasize potential applications for the iron and steel industry and illustrate industrial-scale realized applications. It will highlight safety-related items, the use of the ILTEC technology for energy recovery and new process routes that are made possible.
